Terms of Service
Effective date: August 31, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Brain Food, operated by Faithful Labs ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using Brain Food, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who this is for
Brain Food is a parent-managed service. Only an adult may create and hold an account, set up a subscription, and configure a child's profile. A child never creates their own account, agrees to these Terms, or manages billing. Their device is paired to a profile you control.
2. The service
Brain Food lets you set up a filtered, YouTube-based video experience for your child. Every search result and recommendation is checked by an AI content filter against the rules you set before it can reach your child's device. Videos are played using YouTube's official player; we do not modify, strip ads from, or otherwise alter YouTube's video streams.
3. Accounts and paired devices
- You sign in with your phone number. Keep access to that number secure: it's how we verify it's you.
- Your child's device holds only a paired, single-child token. You can unpair any device at any time from the "Grown-ups" area.
- You are responsible for what happens on devices you choose to pair.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Brain Food is billed as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play, priced per child (starting at $19/month for one child).
- Payment is processed by Apple or Google; we never receive your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewal but does not refund the current period; manage or cancel your subscription from your Apple or Google account settings.
- Access to a child's profile requires an active subscription that covers that child.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Brain Food to attempt to access YouTube content outside the app's filtering, or to circumvent the parental gate.
- Share a pairing code with anyone other than the child it's intended for.
- Use the service in a way that violates YouTube's Terms of Service or API policies.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service.
6. Third-party services
Brain Food relies on third parties to operate: YouTube (video playback and search results), an AI provider (currently DeepSeek, via OpenRouter) for content filtering, and payment processors (Apple, Google, RevenueCat). Your use of YouTube content is also subject to YouTube's own Terms of Service.
7. Disclaimers
Our AI filter is a best-effort tool, not a guarantee. While we design it to fail closed (blocking content rather than allowing something unreviewed through), no automated filter is perfect, and we encourage you to review your child's watch history periodically. Brain Food is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Faithful Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Brain Food.
9. Termination
You may stop using Brain Food and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or of YouTube's policies.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
